About BolCaps
BolCaps is a free set of video tools for creators who make short videos in Urdu, Hindi and English: animated captions, AI voiceovers, a script to video editor, sound cleaning, a thumbnail checker, a YouTube monetization checker and a privacy blur for photos.
The name comes from the Urdu and Hindi word bol (بول / बोल), "speak", and captions. Bol, and watch it move.
Why we built it
Most caption and video tools are built for English first. Urdu and Hindi are added later, if at all, and it shows: Urdu letters that do not join, right-to-left text in the wrong order, fonts that cannot show Nastaliq, and speech recognition that turns Urdu into nonsense. Creators in Pakistan, India and the diaspora end up typing captions by hand, or paying for tools that still get their language wrong.
BolCaps started as Afaq's own tool. Afaq, a motion designer, needed Urdu captions that looked right and could not find a tool that made them. It grew into a full set of tools because the same problems kept coming up: clean sound, voiceovers, thumbnails, and the question every new channel asks, "will my video get monetized?"
How it works
Almost everything in BolCaps runs inside your own browser. When you add captions to a video, only its sound is sent to our speech service (OpenAI's open Whisper model, run by Groq or Cloudflare), so there is nothing to download first. Your video is not uploaded to our servers. The same is true for the voice maker, sound cleaner, enhancer and privacy blur. This keeps BolCaps free to run, keeps your videos private, and means it keeps working when your internet is slow.
A few features do need a server, and we say so where they are: AI pictures for the video maker, a small number of online Urdu and Hindi voices, the optional AI thumbnail opinion, and your account. Our privacy policy explains exactly what is sent and why.
How BolCaps stays free
Every tool is free. There is no paid plan and no card needed. You sign in with a free account to download results, which helps us stop abuse and understand which tools people use. BolCaps is paid for by short ads shown while a video exports, and by creators and brands who book video ad spaces on the site through our advertise page. We do not sell your videos or your personal information.
What we care about
- Languages done properly. Urdu in real Nastaliq and Naskh fonts, Hindi in Devanagari, Roman Urdu when you want it, and right-to-left text that reads correctly.
- Honest tools. When a tool cannot do something well, such as reading Urdu text in a photo, we say so on the page.
- Privacy by default. If something can run on your device, it does.
- Useful advice. Our guides share what we have learned about captions, sound, thumbnails and YouTube monetization, whether or not you use BolCaps.
