Privacy Policy
BolCaps is a captions, script to video and voice tool. Most of the work happens inside your own browser, so most of your files never leave your device. This page explains exactly what does.
Work that stays on your device
Your videos, audio, captions, transcripts and finished exports are processed in your browser. Speech recognition, caption styling and video rendering run on your device. We do not upload these files to our servers and we cannot see them. Some settings and usage counters are saved in your browser's local storage so the site remembers them.
Features that use a server
A few optional features need a server. When you use them, only the text or request needed for that feature is sent:
- AI pictures and scene planning: your script text or picture prompts are sent to Cloudflare Workers AI. If that is unavailable, prompts may be sent to Pollinations to make a picture.
- AI video (Pro): your prompt is sent to Google's Gemini API to make the clip.
- Online voices: the text you want spoken is sent to Microsoft Azure Speech.
- Stock clips: search words are sent to stock libraries to find matching footage.
We do not keep your scripts or prompts after the result is returned. To enforce monthly limits we store a usage count tied to your account, or to a one-way hash of your IP address if you are not signed in.
Your account
Signing in is optional. Accounts are run by Supabase. If you sign in with your email, Supabase stores your email address and sends you a sign-in link. If you choose Continue with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us so we can create your account. We store your email and your plan (Free, Pro or 1 Year) and nothing else about you.
YouTube upload
If you choose to post a video to YouTube, BolCaps asks Google for permission to upload videos to your channel (youtube.upload) and, if you also choose to add captions, to add a caption track (youtube.force-ssl). The access token stays in your browser and is used only to upload the video and captions you picked. We never store it on our servers, never read your other videos, and never post anything without you pressing upload. You can remove access any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
BolCaps's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. YouTube uploads are also covered by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
Payments
Payments for Pro and the 1 Year plan are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Your card details go straight to Lemon Squeezy and we never see them. Lemon Squeezy tells us your email, which plan you bought and whether it is active.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP address and browser type to deliver pages and block attacks. We do not use advertising trackers or sell your data to anyone.
Your choices
- Use BolCaps without an account. Most features work signed out.
- Clear your browser storage to remove local settings.
- Ask us to delete your account and its data by emailing [email protected].
Children
BolCaps is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
