A free VEED alternative for captions
VEED is a full online video editor, and many people use it mainly for auto subtitles. If subtitles, captions and quick social videos are what you need, BolCaps does those jobs for free, with no watermark on exports and without uploading your video to a server.
Try BolCaps free
How to do it
- Open the Caption studio and add your video.
- Generate subtitles with AI, or import an SRT or VTT file.
- Style them: 60 animated looks or a clean subtitle style.
- Export MP4 with burned-in subtitles, or download SRT, VTT or ASS.
BolCaps covers these jobs for free
- Auto subtitles and translation of speech to English subtitles
- Burned-in, animated captions for TikTok, Reels and Shorts
- SRT, VTT and ASS subtitle files
- AI text to speech in 25 languages
- Script to video with AI pictures, stock clips and captions
- Background noise and music removal
Where a full editor may still win
BolCaps is not a full timeline editor for long projects with many tracks, screen recording, team review links or brand kits. If you need those, a full editor is worth paying for. If you need captions, subtitles and short social videos, you may not need to.
A fair comparison
Paid caption apps are polished and some have features BolCaps does not, such as team workspaces, cloud storage of your projects and AI b-roll from big stock libraries. Plans and limits change often, so check their current pricing page. BolCaps is the better fit if you want captions, styles and exports without a subscription, and if you would rather your video never left your device.
