A free Kapwing alternative
Kapwing is an online editor that a lot of people find when they search for a quick subtitle tool. If what you need is subtitles, animated captions or a short social video, and you want it without a watermark or a monthly plan, BolCaps does those jobs free in your browser.

How to do it
- Open the Caption studio and add your video.
- Generate subtitles with AI or import your own SRT or VTT.
- Pick one of 60 styles or a clean subtitle look.
- Export an MP4 with no watermark, or download SRT, VTT or ASS.
BolCaps covers these jobs for free
- Auto subtitles in 90+ languages and translation of speech into English

- Script to video with AI voice, pictures and captions
- Long video to Shorts
- Background noise and music removal
Where a full online editor may still win
BolCaps is not a general-purpose editor with layers, templates, a meme maker, shared team workspaces and cloud storage of your projects. If you edit with a team every day, a full editor makes sense. If you mainly need captions and quick social clips, try the free route first.
A fair comparison
Paid caption apps are polished and some have features BolCaps does not, such as team workspaces, cloud storage of your projects and AI b-roll from big stock libraries. Plans and limits change often, so check their current pricing page. BolCaps is the better fit if you want captions, styles and exports without a subscription, and if you would rather your video never left your device.
